Opening Day Celebration: Alien She, Fred Tomaselli, and Dieter Roth

Join us for the opening day celebration of OCMA’s new exhibitions! Hear from the curators and meet the artists. Learn new silkscreening techniques, play a tune, and create your identity at our drop-in workshops led by local Riot Grrrl Chapters; OC Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls; and the LGBT Center OC.

PROGRAM SCHEDULE

11-4pm DIY Workshops:

  • Rock N’ Roll Camp for Girls OC: Play a new instrument and learn to silkscreen your own tote bag.
  • LB Grrrl Collective: Join a writing workshop aimed at connecting visitors with political prisoners.
  • The LGBT Center OC: Collaborate on a community identity quilt while learning sewing techniques.

12-1pm Introduction to Alien She by curators Astria Suparak and Ceci Moss

1-3pm Meet & Greet with exhibiting artists and curators: LJ Roberts, Ginger Brooks Takahashi, and Asad Faulwell, and OCMA Chief Curator Dan Cameron.

1:30-2pm Spotlight artist talk with Fred Tomaselli


FOOD & DRINK

11am-3pm Soho Taco truck and Bakerytruck OC on site.
