Born in 1945 in Chicago, Illinois, Judy Fiskin is a Los Angeles-based photographer and video maker. She received her B.A. from Pomona College and her M.A. from University of California, Los Angeles. Praised for the intelligence, wit, and stylistic coherence of her work, Fiskin?s photographs are noted for their deadpan portrayals of residential architecture while her recent films are video diaries and elegies which are both poignant and humorous portrayals on art and medium. Her videos have been screened in the Documentary Fortnight series at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and at the J. Paul Getty Museum in Los Angeles; her photographs have been shown at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles, at the Getty Museum in Los Angeles, at The New Museum in New York City, and at the Pompidou Center in Paris. Fiskin lives and works in Los Angeles.
