Art of Dining 2017

Honoring Beijing-based artist Sun Xun
The Orange County Museum of Art held its 30th anniversary Art of Dining, the museum's most important fundraiser that supports exhibition and education programs. Presented by Louis Vuitton, the May 20th chic affair commemorated the vibrant creativity and artistic excellence available in Orange County from local, national, and international artists. Two hundred and fifty attended the gala at OCMA's future site at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts in Costa Mesa.

The event was also an opportunity for OCMA to honor artist Sun Xun, a rising star not only in his homeland of China, and who was first introduced to Orange County in 2015 as one of the artists included in the exhibition My Generation: Young Chinese Artists.

The event began with a reception in an outdoor lounge designed by Room & Board with hors d’oeuvres provided by VACA.  Moët & Chandon Imperial Sparkling Wine from Champagne was generously provided by Louis Vuitton, with cocktails donated by Ketel One and Nolet’s Finest Gin. Guests then moved into the dining tent that was transformed by Inviting Occasions to evoke a modern and contemporary aesthetic mirroring OCMA’s programming. Under enormous light fixtures and on tables dressed in metallic gold brocade or wood tops left bare, guests dined on a four-course feast designed and prepared by The Kitchen for Exploring Foods.
