Trained as a printmaker, Corona Del Mar native Don Ed Hardy will discuss his artistic development and how he found success as a pioneer of tattoo art. In addition to his well known eponymous apparel brand, he has exhibited paintings, drawings, and prints world wide.

VISIONARIES LECTURE SERIES: EXPLORING THE AVANT-GARDE (FALL SERIES)

In recognition of OCMA’s much anticipated exhibit The Avant-Garde Collection and the centennial of the start of World War I, this fascinating series will examine the historic avant-garde and commemorate the “War to End All Wars,” deploying the conflict as a backdrop to the surprising resilience of artistic creativity during this dark time. The artists’ daunting struggle to innovate will be explored and the evolution of the avant-garde will be defined.
